This biography is written by Shari Rosati- Terry. Recovering and Disabeled I wanted to show people what horses did to save my life through Equine Communication and Equine Assisted Therapy. Horses being part of my life  since childhood the one thing that made me happy and feel a sence of self pride.

After my near fatal auto accident where I suffered Traumatic Brain  Injury, broken bones, my foot nearly severed off, open tibea fracture , the complete left side of my upper body broken and crushed, sweating only on half my body to this day which could cause heart attack or stroke and too many other injuries to mention  I found myself feeling alone and broken.

My husband divorced me and remarried I found myself in a Rehabilitation Facility.

When finally a friend began taking me to a horse farm for visits. It ignited a spark within me as horses licked my fingers. The aroma of sweet hay awakened some of my sences.

Going through inordinant amounts of physical and occupational therapy I was becoming depressed and scared. Then began the horrific trigger point injections into my neck, back and trap muscles.   I began to tire of all the Doctor appointments and therapy.

From wheelchair to walker to a cane  it took me years to try to walk without a limp which I have not yet mastered.

I found my self needing these magestic horses as part of my daily survival.  Later I went from barn to barn looking for a gentle horse  for my best friend. I finally met Domino and Pegasus who were both in need of rescuing .

Pegasus was my dream we saw into each others souls. Domino being  only 10 years old was the jokester.  Pegasus was the compassionate horse knowing my ailments and disabilities. He treated me with gentleness and kindness.  He knew I had no feeling in my right leg and no balance to speak of.

My brain did not function correctly nor did my body. They knew I needed them.

Hardships continued in my life but I kept trying.

To this day I suffer daily from extreme pain, my vision is failing, my brain shuts down when ever it feels like to sleep and I only sweat on half my body. There are no medications to take for this kind of pain.

The horses give so much. The instructors are kind and compassionate and  help me try to get some kind of excercise and control.  With barely any strength  or muscle tone remaining I look to the horses to help me through my days.
