In September, William Mason fourth grade Girl Scout Troop 1927 decided to do a service project to commemorate 100 years of Girls Scouts. They decided to plant a “giving tree” for the William Mason community. The idea of the Giving Tree came from the book The Giving Tree, written by Shel Silverstein. Over the year, this idea grew into a small sitting garden for the community to share, gather, or unwind . They raised money towards this effort by selling Girl Scout nuts, magazines and cookies. Other William Mason troops purchased engraved bricks expressing well wishes to celebrate this centennial anniversary. Thursday, these same troops came together for a candlelight ceremony to commemorate this event and the service project. Next year, the…

Prosecutor's spokesman said no new details have emerged in case against former Montville teacher.

The following is a Letter to the Editor submitted by Carolyn D'Andrea, a 2007 Montville Township High School graduate. If you would like to submit a Letter to the Editor, send it to ariana.cohn-sheehan@patch.com. Dear Editor, By a show of hands, how many people can say that they have been to any type of town meeting? For those in attendance, it was clear that there were more than the usual amount of people and all of them there for a noble reason. It has recently come to the attention of the …
