Driver transported to hospital following Thursday morning crash.
A driver was transported to St. Clare's Hospital Thursday morning after Montville Township police Capt. Rudy Appelmann said he crashed into the building at 55 Route 46 in Pine Brook. Appelmann said the driver, who was not named, was traveling west on Route 46 around 11 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and crossed the median, driving into the building near Tiffany's Restaurant. The building at 55 Route 46 is currently vacant, Appelmann said. The Montville Township Volunteer First Aid Squad responded to the scene to transport the driver to the hospital. No other injuries were reported, although the building was damaged.
Men allegedly admitted to attempting to steal used cooking oil from two Pine Brook businesses.
Three men were arrested in Montville after allegedly attempting to steal used cooking oil from two Pine Brook businesses on Oct. 5, according to Montville police Capt. Ed Rosellini. Omar Juarez, 46, of Newark, Danny Avilez, 34, of Clifton, and Reinaldo Ramirez, 25, of Newark, were charged with two counts each of theft, trespassing and conspiracy to commit theft. Around 9:30 a.m., a patrol officer stopped a truck leaving Tiffany's Restaurant, on Route 46. The men allegedly admitted taking grease from Tiffany's and earlier that day from Don Pepe restaurant, Rosellini said. The men were arrested and transported to the Montville police station.
