Legislators to Make Mobile Office Hours Stop in Montville

State Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroce and Assemblyman Jay Webber will invite public to come with questions.

In continuing their tour of Mobile Office Hours, state Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroce and Assemblyman Jay Webber will be making a stop in Montville on Wednesday. The legislators, who represent the 26th District, have hit the road to meet with constituents to answer questions and hear their concerns. They will be visiting the Montville Township Municipal Building from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Last month, DeCroce and Webber made a stop in Kinnelon. They were greeted by Kinnelon Mayor Bob Collins and several residents who brought up worries over state policies and legislation. Webber and DeCroce promised to bring feedback back to their colleagues. No appointments are necessary for anyone wishing to attend the event. District 26 includes Kinnelon, …

District 26 GOP Trenton Trio to Run Again For Legislature

Parsippany's Joseph Raich has stated his intention to run for Assembly.

The state legislators representing the 26th Legislative District — Sen. Joe Pennacchio of Pine Brook, Assemblyman Jay Webber of Morris Plains and Parsippany resident Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroce — announced their plan to run for re-election as a ticket Thursday. “I look forward to running with our team and serving the constituents of the 26th Legislative District," said Pennacchio. "It has been an honor to represent our constituents but more importantly to advocate and fight for what is in the best interests of the people we serve.” “I serve, and hope to continue to serve, so that our Garden State keeps moving toward an affordable and prosperous future as great as our state’s citizens," Webber stated. "I am committed to pursuing policies…

Leap Year Birthday: Webber Turns 10

The District 26 assemblyman was born Feb. 29, 1972.

Republican Assemblyman Jay Webber's birthday is Wednesday. He's 40, but because his leap year birthday—Feb. 29—only comes every four years, it's the 10th time the District 26 legislator gets to celebrate his birthday on the day he was born. “I’m not eligible to serve in the Assembly until I’m 84 years old,” Webber told The Auditor, a Star-Ledger column on state government. “You should have (Democratic Assembly Speaker) Sheila Oliver look into that. She might appreciate it.” Webber said his daughter is excited because she also turns 10 this year, in May. Webber received leap year birthday shout-outs on the Capitol Quickies blog and from the New Jersey Assembly Republicans.

Webber Looks Ahead to Convention and Change

26th District legislator says transitioning after the loss of DeCroce is 'difficult and unpleasant.'

The Morris County Republican Committee meets Wednesday for a special convention to fill the seat left vacant by the sudden Jan. 9 death of 26th District Assemblyman Alex DeCroce, of Parsippany.   One of the GOP leaders awaiting the event being held at the Zeris Inn in Mountain Lakes is the late lawmaker's colleague, district office mate and friend—a man in mourning yet moving forward—Assemblyman Jay Webber. In addition to dealing with the personal loss of DeCroce, Webber also faces a move to new district offices. Because of redistricting, Whippany is no longer part of the 26th District, which means the DeCroce/Webber suite of offices on Route 10 will have to move. He said Parsippany sites are among those being considered. Right now, Webber…

Hey Frank, If all politics is local so is all corruption. Maybe the "Crazy guy" who looks at you in the mirror everyday for not paying attention to it or worse yet justifying it for the sake of ideaology. The Republican Party in Morris has it's share of wrong doing.   more ›

Webber's Correct: NJ Has $1B Debt for Unemployment

PolitiFact gives "True" rating to statement made by Montville's assemblyman.

Assemblyman Jay Webber, who represents Montville and other towns in District 26, was correct when he told NJToday the state is "over a billion dollars in debt to the federal government" due to borrowing money for its unemployment insurance trust fund, according to a report by PolitiFact New Jersey. Webber (R-Morris Plains) received a "True" rating from PolitiFact, which evaluates the accuracy of statements made by public officials. The state has been paying off the debt. It owed $2.1 billion in April and expects to pay back the remaining $1.3 billion toward the end of 2013, the report said. Webber made the statement by way of explaining why he opposes a bill that provides unemployment benefits for some employees whose hours are reduced. (…

The ignorant - or, much more likely, senile - one here is you. The social good of Medicaid is not "beyond dispute", you just wish it were. In fact, it is absolutely nonexistent to everyone, except professional social-aid leeches such as yourself. Fortunately, the majority of the district voters agree with me rather than you, and their opinion is clearly represented by Mr. Jay Webber in the …   more ›
