Finding the Perfect Christmas Tree With Some Help

Vreeland Farms owners describe the difference between some of the most popular trees this season.

Each of them is green, has needles and reminds people of the upcoming holiday. But not every Christmas tree is the same. Laura Cluff and Mike Casella, both 27-year-old West Milford residents, have co-owned Vreeland Farms, on Route 202 in Montville, since July. The couple is leasing the farm stand, hoping to build a bigger business and eventually get married. "We're trying to start our own business and trying to succeed," Casella said. The stand, which was previously owned by Cluff's aunt, has continued to offer specialty items, like jellies and jams, syrup, spices, and non-traditional items, like the colorful spinners that can be seen from Route 202. Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Hails From Morris

10-ton Norway Spruce to be cut down Tuesday morning in Mount Olive.

From Morris County to Rockefeller Center. A 10-ton Norway Spruce will be cut down Tuesday morning in the Flanders section of Mount Olive and transported on a 115-foot-long trailer and transported to New York. The tree, which is 80 feet tall and 50 feet in diameter, will be brought down on the property of Joseph Balku and will be erected in Rockefeller Center on Wednesday. The 80th annual Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting ceremony will be held in two weeks on Wednesday, Nov. 28. This is the first time since 2009 a New Jersey tree will be used at Rockefeller Center, according to NJ.com.
