Jets GM: 'You Don’t Want to Give $5M to a Jerk'

When building a successful professional football operation, it is just as important to select the right coach and quarterback as it is to give an ear to what the drivers, trainers, ball boys and secretaries have to say. Indeed, it might be more important  to listen to the non-athletes of the organization, Mike Tannenbaum, general manager of the  New York Jets told a Morris County Chamber of Commerce audience in Florham Park Friday. Question: Did the Jets hire Anthony Weiner to interview Brett Favre? Observation: I've can't recall seeing too much Chardonnay being consumer prior to Giants games at the tailgates I've attended, AND, I can't recall not seeing a fight in the parking lot at the Jets games I've attended. Montville Student Awarded Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

According to his mother, Joseph Adami was not initially enthusiastic about his college scholarship opportunities. "There was a big list you could apply to, and his initial reaction was kind of 'oh, what do I have to do,'" Lisa Adami said. "He applied, then kind of forgot about it." So when the Montville Township Chamber of Commerce selected Joe as one of three students awarded a $1,000 scholarship, his reservations made the prize that much sweeter. "He was really surprised to get it," she said. "When he got it, it made him feel really good."
