Dapper Bandit's Car Gave Him Away, Report Says
Focus turned to Warren Township man when off-duty detective spotted his vehicle without hubcaps matching description of one seen near robberies, according to affidavit.
His well-dressed appearance and getaway car without hubcaps led authorities to the Warren Township man accused of robbing several Morris County banks and possibly one in South Jersey, according to an arrest affidavit. David G. Carroccia, 28, will have a bail review hearing Monday in State Superior Court in Morristown. Carroccia is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail. Carroccia is accused of robbing banks in Parsippany, Lincoln Park, Mount Olive, and attempting to rob a Kinnelon bank, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office announced Friday. The alleged "dapper bandit" was seen on video surveillance wearing a dress suit with a hat in each of the incidents, the prosecutor's office said.
