The Barn Theatre dates to 1928, when its predecessor, the Mountain Lakes Dramatic Club, debuted at the State Theater in Boonton. The community theater group has been at its present barn stage, with an approximate 200-plus-seat audience, since 1966. The theater generally performs five mainstage shows each season, in addition to several one-acts and other productions.
