Established in 1910, the Montville Fire Department provides area residents with comprehensive engine, ladder and rescue services. Headed by Chief John Osborne, the department currently counts five trucks and 40 members at its disposal, and is responsible not only for dousing residential and commercial fires, but also for operations involving search and rescue, hazardous materials and ice rescues. The fire department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a wee.
