Twp. to Host Movie Night with DJ, Bonfire, Hot Chocolate

This is the last of the free Family Movie Night program.

It’s getting chilly out there and to wrap up their outdoor Family Movie Night program, the Morris Township Department of Parks and Recreation will conclude its free movie series on Saturday with Tim Burton’s animated black and white film Frankenweenie.

Stop by Ginty Field, next to the Morris Township Municipal Complex on Woodland Avenue.  The event starts at dusk, around 7 p.m. and the movie is PG.

It’s fitting that Halloween is around the corner because this movie is about Young Victor, who conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences, according to the township.

Bring warm blankets, lawn chairs and snacks. Get there early for some fun with Summit Soundz taking pre-show spooky musical requests at 7:30 p.m.

“During the evening we will be serving hot chocolate for all in the Ginty Gazebo.  After the movie the Morris Township Fire Department and Woodland Fire Company will light up the sky with a Halloween Bonfire at Ginty Field,” said the township.
