Montville Fire Department Preps for Inaugural Open House

Tour the trucks and check out the equipment. The family-friendly event is this Saturday.

Ever wanted to know what it's like to be a firefighter or part of the fire department's ladies auxiliary?

This Saturday, the Montville Fire Department is opening its doors for its inaugural Open House. The event will run from noon - 4 p.m. and the FD is a non-profit that's 100 percent volunteer based.

"This will be the first year that we will be doing it," said Brielle Cook, of the Montville Fire Department. "We will have stations that children and parents can stop by and learn fire safety tips, play some games, look at equipment, and get a tour of the fire trucks."

There will also be information and applications for those interested in joining the volunteer fire department or the ladies auxiliary.
