Start off the new year with a charitable cause.
The Montville Educational Foundation (MEF) will be hosting “Master Class,” a Barn Theatre fundraiser on Friday, Jan. 17.
“Our theme for this event will be ‘Dinner & A Show,’” said Michael Abramson, MEF President. “We have secured two local restaurants and a Catering Company as our supporters: Gencarelli’s and the Sushi House & Encore Catering.”
Help enrich Montville School District with this fundraiser, which starts with a
Doors open at 6 p.m. with a complimentary dinner and cocktails from 6 – 7:30 p.m. There will be wine, beer, soda and water will accompany delicious food provided by Gencarelli’s and the Sushi House.
Follow that with the Master Class, written by Terrence McNally at 8 p.m.
Coffee, tea and dessert are included and will be served during intermission. There will also be a 50/50 raffle as well.
Master Class features music by Verdi, Puccini, and Bellini, the story revolves around a “voice master class” run by Maria Callas, a larger-than life, glamorous, caustic, drop-dead funny teacher who happens to be one of the greatest Opera singers of the 20th Century. Maria retreats into recollections about her younger years as an ugly duckling, her career triumphs and her affair with Aristotle Onassis, according to the MEF flyer.
MEF is a private, non-profit, non-political organization, which donates 100percent of proceeds raised to support and foster innovative teaching approaches for the children of Montville.
Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for students. All prepaid tickets will be waiting for you at the Barn Theatre in an envelope the day of show
