Civic Groups Clean Up Montville

About a dozen civic groups and a few families volunteered their time to clean up streets and parks in Montville.

About a dozen civic groups and a few families took part in . Funding is provided through a state Clean Communities program grant, according to Maryann Witty, directory of the Parks and Recreation Department.

Groups are assigned an area to clean up and are encouraged to separate the garbage from the recyclable items.

Civic groups are paid $125 per cleanup, limited to four times per year. A bigger cleanup takes place in the spring around Earth Day.
