Valley View Student Pitches In to Help Children Fighting Cancer
Danny Fariello raises funds for Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation and delivers baseballs to kids at Morristown Medical Center.
A Valley View Elementary School fifth-grader is hoping hand-delivered baseballs with inspirational messages will help the more than 100 children whose lives have been dealt a curve battling cancer at Morristown Medical Center.
Danny Fariello is selling baseballs to raise money for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation as part of Valley View's TREP$ program, an entrepreneurial business initiative for fourth- and fifth-graders.
Fariello is then delivering the baseballs to children fighting cancer at Morristown Medical Center in support of the NVRQT (Never Quit) campaign started by Boston Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester, a cancer survivor.
Fariello sold baseballs with the NVRQT logo on Sunday at Valley View's TREP$ marketplace that will be delivered to the hospital. Fariello hopes to deliver one ball to each of the 140 children battling cancer at Morristown Medical Center.
To support Fariello's project, visit NVRQT.org, make a $20 donation, leave a message for a child and enter the code "Danny-MMC' and that ball will be delivered to the hospital.
