Happy 100th, Edna Herziger [PHOTOS]

The Chelsea resident says she's had "some hard times and some good times" over the last century.

Cake, balloons and proclamations from the Township Committee and Gov. Chris Christie were on hand Tuesday afternoon for the 100th birthday of Edna Herziger, a resident of .

"You know, I can't believe it," she said. "I don't know how I go this far. It was all God's will."

Herziger, who never married, grew up in Paterson in the same house until she moved to the Pompton Plains section of Pequannock 18 years ago. She moved to The Chelsea assisted living facility eight years ago. She worked as a secretary before her retirement.

She attends Bible study weekly with Tom Welsch of , who read the 100th Psalm at the celebration, which was attended by Herziger's family, friends, staff members and fellow Chelsea residents.
