Montville to Celebrate Independence With 3-Day Event

Rides, fireworks and Summer Idol singing competition scheduled for next week.

annual three-day Fourth of July event is happening at the high school field next week and will once again feature rides, fireworks, a parade, concerts and more.

Carnival pre-sale tickets can be purchased at 7-Eleven, , the , Montville Recreation Department and . Pre-sale wristbands are $25 ($30 at the door) and pre-sale ride tickets are $18 for 22 tickets (regular priced are $1.25 per ticket, 25 tickets for $25 or 50 tickets for $50).

THURSDAY, JUNE 28

5 p.m.-8 p.m.- Semi-Finals talent competition (Main Stage)

5 p.m.-11 p.m.-Carnival (wristband day)

FRIDAY, JUNE 29

5 p.m.-Classic Car Show

5 p.m.-midnight- Carnival

8 p.m.-10:30 p.m.-Free Concert: the Planotones and Duprees will be taking the Main Stage.

SATURDAY, JUNE 30

8 a.m.- Include Me! 5K Run (to benefit , hosted at the Montville Township Library)

10:30 a.m.-Parade: Starts on Changebridge Road and leads to the high school

10:30 a.m.-noon-Flea Market and Information Booths

Noon-midnight-Carnival (wristband day)

5 p.m.-7 p.m.- Summer Idol Final Competition ($500 cash grand prize will be awarded-Main Stage)

6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.-Balloon flights (tethered ride for $10; weather permitting and will benefit Children's Miracle Network)

9:30 p.m.-Fireworks (rain date: Sunday, July 1)
