O'Reilly, Lake Propel Montville Girls

Boys basketball picks up first loss of the season.

It’s been an impressive run for the Montville girls basketball team thus far into the 2011-12 season as the Mustangs have rattled off wins in six of their seven games played, including Tuesday’s 45-34 win over Mount Olive in Flanders.

Katie O'Reilly netted a game high 12 points and added three rebounds and two assists for Montville, who led 33-27 after three quarters before outscoring Mt. Olive 12-7 in the final frame.

Tami Lake added seven points and five rebounds, while Carly DeNigris racked up four steals, three rebounds and two assists to go along with her two points for Montville.

Sarah Wells scored 11 points for Mount Olive (2-5).

Matt Cohen finished with 18 points but the Montville boys basketball team dropped its first loss of the season, falling to Mount Olive, 83-71, on Tuesday, according to NJ.com. Nate Buckler netted 16 points, Danny Weiss scored 14 and Jon Lacy added 11 for Montville (5-1).

Boys Swimming Wins, Girls Lose

The Montville boys swim team improved to 1-1 this season with a 98-69 win over Clifton, according to NJ.com.

The girls swim team didn’t fare as well against Clifton on Tuesday as they fell, 98-66, according to NJ.com. Montville sits at 3-5 this season.
