Mustangs to Wear Pink for Cancer Organization

Wednesday's home game against Pequannock will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Pink hats will cap the usual green, white and gold uniforms of Montville Township High School's baseball team when it hosts its first “Go Pink for Cancer” game against Pequannock on Wednesday.

The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at home. Pink hats will be on sale and donation cans will be passed around to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure, said Cheryl Manfra, Mustang Association vice president.

"It is the first event of its kind done by the M.T.H.S varsity baseball team and we hope it will be a huge success and a new tradition for the team," she said. "These are two local towns coming together for a really great cause."

Students and community members are invited to attend the game and wear pink to support the teams and Komen, which works to end breast cancer through research, community health outreach, advocacy and programs. The Mustang Association will be selling hotdogs, drinks and desserts at the game.
