Chierici played football in Montville beginning at 7 years old and played for the Montville Township Mustangs for all four years of high school.

"He was very well known in town when he played and loved by all of his coaches. In fact, we are still approached today by parents from opposing towns when he played in high school that tell us they remember him and what a great player he was," his mother, Cindy Chierici, said.
