Montville Softball Advances to Tournament Final

A single up the middle by Montville's Tami Lake drove in the winning run in the Morris County Tournament semifinals this week, with the Mustangs ultimately topping West Morris 5-4, according to a Star-Ledger report.

Montville is scheduled to face Whippany Park for the county title at 6 p.m. Thursday at Peterson Field in Rockaway.

Emily Mulligan, who hit a grand slam to give Montville the lead in the quarterfinals earlier this week, tied Thursday's game with a solo homerun in the fifth inning, the report said.

The last time Montville and Whippany Park faced off in a Morris County Tournament final, in 2007, the Wildcats won, according to Soar-NJ.com.
