Montville Soccer Pro Nets Winning Goal

Watch video of Dilly Duka scoring for the Chicago Fire.

Persistence paid off for Montville Township High School graduate Dilly Duka when he scored the game-winning goal for the Chicago Fire in a recent game.

He scored 23 minutes into an Aug. 10 match against the Montreal Impact, sticking with the ball after it ricocheted between defenders on the drive.

“It bounced around a bit,” a grinning Duka told Soccer By Ives after the game. “I was a little fortunate but it was a big play and it ended up being the game winner.”

The Fire won 2-1.

Duka, a midfielder who played for Montville and then Rutgers before going pro, has three goals so far this season.
