Montville Boys Earn No. 3 Seed

Football, girls soccer fall.

The Montville boys soccer team has cruised to a 15-1-1 mark in 2011. That regular season success results in a No. 3 seed for Montville in the North 1, Group III state sectional tournament.

Montville will have a first round game against 14th seeded Morris Hills on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

The Mustangs faced Morris Hills twice during the regular season, with both games resulting in shutout wins for Montville. Those wins were two of an astounding 15 shutout victories this season.

The Montville field hockey team earned the eighth seed in the North 1, Group III state sectional tournament and will host ninth-seeded Mount Olive on Saturday. Montville sits at 8-7 this season and has faced Mount Olive twice, earning wins in both games, according to NJ.com. Mt. Olive is 3-15 this season.

The Mustang girls soccer team will also compete for a North 1, Group III title, as they travel to play No. 1 seed Northern Highlands on Monday. Montville is (4-8-5) this season.

The Montville girls soccer team fell to Vernon, 2-1, according to NJ.com. Stephanie Maggio scored for Montville (4-9-5).

Football Remains Winless

The Montville football team remains in search of win No. 1 after Friday’s 35-7 loss to Pope John, according to NJ.com. Montville is 0-8 this season.
