Extreme Heat, Heavy Rain and Famous Housewives: The Week in Review for July 6 - July 11

Highlights from last week.

In case you missed it, here is a recap of some of the things Montville Patch covered last week.

Temperatures in Montville hit 100 as the town delt with a state-wide heat wave. In response to the extreme weather, the National Weather Service issued alerts, NJ Transit had to adjust its schedules and many throughout the county were without power. Temperatures cooled off as the week ended, though they are expected to get as high as 90 degrees in the coming week.

The Montville animal hospital released information about heat-related illness in animals, including what signs pet owners should look for in cats or dogs and what to do in case of heat-related injury or illness.

The town's summer concert series kicked off with a performance by the Central Jersey Wind Ensemble at the senior house. The next concert is scheduled for Thursday, July 29.
