Zach Matari Advances on 'American Idol'

High school senior, Valhalla singer gets sent to Hollywood.

Zach Matari, a senior and the lead vocalist for Valhalla, advanced to Hollywood on Thursday night's episode of "American Idol."

He posted on Twitter:

with a photo of him walking out of his audition with a "golden ticket."

In addition to Matari, Valhalla is comprised of four Montville grads: Greg Amato, lead guitar; his brother, bassist Dave Amato; Emre Ozyemisci on drums; and rhythm guitarist Fabricio Barreto.

The band that Matari writes most of their lyrics.

"We have one song, 'Made in Uruguay,' that's about, basically, don't let anyone tell you otherwise, live your dream, be what you want to be," Matari said.
