Woodmont Locked Down, Suspicious Activity was False Alarm

The school was locked down for 15-20 minutes.

Suspicious activity observed by a Woodmont Elementary School teacher on Wednesday was later determined to be a false alarm, said School Superintendent Paul Fried.

Around 1 p.m., the school locked down for 15-20 minutes because “a teacher reported she saw some people in a car in the parking lot and thought it was suspicious, so the police were called,” said Fried, adding that the school was locked down as a precaution.

“It turns out they were local residents and there was nothing wrong or suspicious,” he said, adding that the “principal sent a letter home to let parents know.”
