Second-Grader's Gov Interaction a 'Delight' for Classmates

Audrey Mills, an elementary student at Trinity Christian School in Montville, took the floor Feb. 27 during a town hall-style meeting at the Pine Brook Jewish Center to ask Gov. Chris Christie what he likes most about his job.

Christie responded with a “serious” benefit and a purely “fun” one. On the serious side, Christie acknowledged that as governor he has the daily opportunity “to do something great.”

On the “fun” side, Christie said that having the Lincoln Tunnel closed when he needs to get to New York City is the best part of the job.

“You get to drive right through...no traffic, I love it, that’s the most fun thing on the fun side,” he said.

Audrey, dressed in her blue uniform sweater and plaid skirt, looked very young in the room full of adults. But, she asked her question clearly and responded readily to Christie’s banter.

"What a delight it was for all of us at Trinity Christian School to learn of Audrey Mill’s encounter with Gov. Christie. We could not have picked a better representative of the school. Her confidence, composure and ability to verbally engage the Governor...is what an education at TCS is all about," said Jeff Holcomb Trinity Christian’s Administrative Director.
