SAT Scores Remain Constant at High School

New Jersey Department of Education releases school report cards.

According to information from the New Jersey Department of Education released Thursday, Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) results have remained fairly constant at  between the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 school years.

Average SAT scores in math increased to 570 and in the verbal section increased to 544, but the average score on the essay section slightly decreased to 541, only a few points less than last year's average.

The school average for participation in Advanced Placement (AP) courses in grades 11 and 12 is 71.8 percent, while the state average for the 2010-2011 school year is only 39 percent. U.S. History is the high school's highest attended AP course with 75 students in the class and U.S. History also has the highest number of AP exams taken.

Attendance has barely changed over the past year in any of the high school grades, although student suspensions have increased from 5 percent to 17 percent in the 2010-2011 school year. For the past three years, no students have been expelled.

The school has a 98.81 percent graduation rate, as of the Class of 2011.
