Relay for Life Kicks Off With Montville Students

Student committee initiates 2013 festivities with event to raise money and awareness for cancer.

Montville students got a head start on this year's local Relay for Life gathering by hosting a kickoff event on Valentine's Day.

A student committee made up of highschoolers from Montville Township High School prepared a video to emphasize the event's cause, spreading awareness and raising money to fight cancer.

More than 200 students came together to learn about Relay for Life and the upcoming run/walk. Joan Richmond, a member of the Montville Relay for Life Committee and current patient battling Stage 4 Cancer, gave a speech.

This year's Montville Relay for Life event will be held June 7 at Camp Dawson.
