"The Pathways rock band is made up of children both with and without disabilities and has worked for over a year to put on this concert that celebrates showing how every child can make a difference," Pathways President Melinda Jennis said.

DJs and dancers who are part of the Pathways program will also perform during the concert. Pathways photographers will be showcasing their work for attendees to see during the intermission of the concert.

The concert is one of the main events in celebration of Pathways' theme this year "Make a Difference - ONE to 1,000." In explaining the theme, Jennis said the children are taught that one person can make a difference for a lot of people. To spread this message throughout the community, the rock band has been touring nearly all Montville schools and conducting assemblies.

"Our goal is to bring about a greater awareness of making a difference," Jennis said.

Included in that is encouraging all Montville students to make a difference. Pathways has selected two students per school, with the exception of the Lazar School, who were honored for making a difference in their schools during the assemblies. One Montville Township High School student, Caitlyn Corradino, was even awarded a $500 scholarship for making a difference through the Pathways program and mentoring others.

Other students who were honored include: Zachary Sylvester (Woodmont), Victoria Eisenhauer (Woodmont), Christina Corti (Hilldale), Colin Hennigan (Hilldale), Kevin Lindert (MTHS), Lauren Shatz (MTHS), Claudia Colatrella (William Mason), Grace Mastrangelo (William Mason), Emily DeFazio (Valley View), Amy Testa (Valley View), Bennett Schwartz (Cedar Hill) and Elena McGovern (Cedar Hill).
