Teachers Contract Still Waiting on Salary Guide

Parties still in the process of designating salaries before the pact can be ratified.

A salary guide has still not been agreed on between the Montville Township Board of Education and Montville Township Education Association (MTEA), solidifying the last step before ratification of a new contract.

The MTEA and board had reached a "tentative agreement" on a new contract on Aug. 31 after an extensive meeting of both parties, according to New Jersey Education Association Field Representative Vickie Walsh. The percentages of salary increase were agreed upon, although the actual guides were not yet established.

As of Tuesday, Walsh said the salary guides were still not available.
