The event is free and open to the public. College representatives will be present to review the artwork.

How many of you in the community attended the inaugural MUDD exhibit? If you missed it, come out to MUDD 2014 next Tuesday for the second annual ceramics invitational at Montville Township High School, which will showcase artwork from students  from nine high schools around the area.

"This Montville art show and reception will showcase the distinguished work of the Montville School district’s student artists," said Susan Conover Marinello, District Communications Officer.

Representatives from several universities will be on hand to review the work and artists' portfolios; they will judge the show with 1st, 2nd, 3rd place awards given in four categories of Wheel Thrown Functional, Wheel Thrown Sculptural, Hand built Functional and Hand built Sculptural, as well as one Best of Show Award to the most outstanding piece in the show.

There will be representatives from William Patterson University, Kutztown University, Moore College of Art and Design, Rhode Island School of Design, SUNY New Paltz and SUNY Purchase. The universities will award several talent scholarships to deserving students.

"The public is invited to attend this exhibit of unique and accomplished work," said Marinello.

MUDD 2014 will be at MTHS on Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Media Center. The exhibition and reception are free. The snow date is Wednesday Jan. 15.
