New Faces Join Montville Board of Education
Karen Cortellino and Matthew Kayne remain board leaders while Michael O'Brien and David Modrak get sworn in for first terms.
There were no changes with the current Montville school board president and vice president at the reorganization meeting Tuesday night.
Karen Cortellino and Matthew Kayne were nominated and unanimously voted for president and vice president, respectively.
"It is a privilege and an honor to serve as president," said Cortellino.

"I too consider it an honor and a privilege and look forward to this upcoming year," said Kayne.
New faces were sworn in separately by Business Administrator Jim Tevis—Michael O’Brien and David Modrak. Incumbents John Morella and Carmela Novi were sworn in together.

Challenger O'Brien and Incumbents Morella and Novi defeated Challenger Diane Bordonaro for three seats with 3-year terms and for the unexpired two-year term available on the board, Modrak ran unchallenged in November.
