Montville Climbs in 'Best High Schools' Rankings

Newsweek ranked Montville High School No. 34 in the state.

Montville Township High School ranks No. 34 among the "Best High Schools" in New Jersey on a list published by Newsweek.

The publication on Monday released its 2013 list of "America's Best High Schools," ranking the top 2,000 public high schools "that have proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads."

Montville's state and national ranking jumped from a year ago. It was No. 415 in the nation this year, compared to No. 847 last year. In New Jersey, it ranked No. 34 compared to No. 69 last year.

The publication considers graduation rate, college acceptance rate, AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student, average SAT/ACT scores, average AP/IB/AICE schores and percent of students enrolled in at least one AP/IB/AICE course.
