Two re-elected Montville Township Board of Education members will be sworn in Monday as the board holds its annual reorganization meeting.
This is the first year the meeting will be held in January after the board voted last year to move school board elections and eliminate a budget vote.
Dr. Karen Cortellino and Charles Grau will take the Oath of Office at the township municipal building at 7 p.m. at the beginning of the meeting. Jon Alin was also re-elected, but resigned from his seat last month to relocate to Florida. The board has not yet selected a candidate to fill Alin's seat, although one is expected to be appointed at next month's meeting.
Also at Monday's meeting, the school board will elect a president and vice president. Annual appointments will be made, including for a board secretary (expected to be Business Administrator Jim Tevis), assistant board secretary, board attorney and school auditor. Other professionals will also be appointed, such as a school physician and school dentist. A substance awareness coordinator, expected to be Kelly McCorkle, and psychological examiner, expected to be Dr. Lee Suckno, will also be appointed.
The board will adopt its policies and bylaws for the year on Monday and select a bank to use. Meeting dates for the next year of the board of education will also be approved.
Superintendent Dr. Paul Fried will discuss the district's plans to make up missed days in the 2012-13 school year during his report.
