Montville BOE Members to Take Oath of Office Monday

One seat remains vacant as board holds annual reorganization meeting.

Two re-elected Montville Township Board of Education members will be sworn in Monday as the board holds its annual reorganization meeting.

This is the first year the meeting will be held in January after the board voted last year to move school board elections and eliminate a budget vote.

Dr. Karen Cortellino and Charles Grau will take the Oath of Office at the township municipal building at 7 p.m. at the beginning of the meeting. Jon Alin was also re-elected, but resigned from his seat last month to relocate to Florida. The board has not yet selected a candidate to fill Alin's seat, although one is expected to be appointed at next month's meeting.

A substance awareness coordinator, expected to be Kelly McCorkle, and psychological examiner, expected to be Dr. Lee Suckno, will also be appointed.

The board will adopt its policies and bylaws for the year on Monday and select a bank to use. Meeting dates for the next year of the board of education will also be approved.
