Get Out: Live Nativity, Concerts, Ugly Sweaters

Winter concerts, Santa cruising around Montville in a fire truck, an ugly Christmas sweater dance party at a studio on Changebridge Road, a live Nativity in town, and a holiday hike up Pyramid Mountain.

When/Where: Thursday at 7 p.m., Adlai Stevenson School, 15 Knoll Road, Fairfield.
Why Go: The in Pine Brook will showcase its talents during a fundraising concert for the Adlai Stevenson School music program. The school flooded after Hurricane Irene and lost its pianos.
Cost: Free. Donations for new piano appreciated.

When/Where: Thursday at 8:30 p.m., .
Why Go: You haven't worn your ugliest Christmas sweater in a while and you want to enjoy some social dancing, food, drinks and music.
Cost: $15

When/Where: Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m., .
Why Go: The Christmas story told in 25 minutes with children, adults and live animals. Refreshments in the church afterward.

Charles Dickens' A Christmas CarolWhen/Where: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 16, 17 and 18, 8 p.m. at , 36 Madison Ave, Madison.
Why go: What's Christmas without Scrooge, especially in this new incarnation of the funny, dark, and haunting morality tale.

When/Where: Saturday starting at 10 a.m., throughout the Montville section of the township.
Why Go: Actually, this time Santa goes to you. The will be escorting Santa Claus around Montville to hand out candy canes and greet all the children. You'll know he's on his way when you hear the fire engine sirens!
