Temple Beth Am in Parsippany, NJ is pleased to present an Interfaith Shabbat entitled "Turning Crisis into Opportunity: Loving Our Neighbors as Ourselves” on Friday, March 11th at 7:30 PM

On March 11th during Shabbat Services prominent religious leaders from the community will engage in a dialogue on Turning Crisis into Opportunity: Loving Our Neighbors as Ourselves.  Panelists including Rabbi Ronald Kaplan, spiritual leader of Temple Beth Am (Parsippany), Imam Adel Barhoma of the Islamic Center of Morris County, Dave Mortensen representing the Multifaith Peace and Justice Alliance, an interfaith group based in Rockaway, New Jersey and Rev. David Muyskens of Rockaway.

This event could not be happening on a more timely basis with what is happening throughout the world stated Rabbi Ron Kaplan. The panel will be talking about the basic commonalities shared by all the world's religions - Love of God, love of neighbor and treating each other as we would want to be treated, and how we can use these commonalities to promote peace, justice, understanding and friendship, emphasizing that we are all One Human Family in the eyes of our Loving God and how people of all faiths here in the United States can form friendships and partnerships to work on local needs through community projects, thereby providing an example of cooperation that will send positive reverberations to the rest of the world.

Members of the panel will offer their hopes and dreams on  How we can promote peace and justice through the shared spiritual values that are present in all religions, such as love of God, love of neighbor and treating each other as we would want to be treated.
