JCSS Open House: Find Out What It's All About!

Looking for a modern take on an historic culture in a warm, welcoming atmosphere? The Jewish Cultural School & Society (JCSS)--the sole “secular synagogue” serving Essex, Union, Passaic and Bergen counties--welcomes families of any faith (or none) to visit our Sunday classes for students in grades 1-7, participate in our new holiday workshops for grades K-2, and experience our adult ed program for teens and up.

The "Pre-Alef" class (1st and 2nd graders) meets twice monthly; older grades move each Sunday to different teachers and subjects: History, Literature, Current Events, conversational Hebrew, and Cultural Arts. The "Hey" class (grades 7-8) year culminates in a graduation/B’nai Mitzvah ceremony. All grades also participate, along with JCSS member families and friends, in a variety of holiday celebrations throughout the school year. And our monthly Adult Education programs mean something for everyone!
