Cedar Hill Students Plant Pinwheels for Peace

If you're in the area, drive by the school in the late afternoon to see the pinwheels.

This past Saturday was the international Day of Peace and to mark the occasion, Cedar Hill Elementary is planting ‘Pinwheels for Peace’ at the school’s lower parking lot between 1:45 – 2:15 p.m, according to Annabel Pierce, Cedar Hill Character Education Committee Chair.

If you’re in the area, drive by and check out the pinwheels, which have messages of peace written on them.

Pinwheels for Peace was started in 2005 by two Florida art teachers, Ann Ayers and Ellen McMillan, for students to express their feelings about the things going on in the world and in their lives. Last year, there were about more than 4 million pinwheels planted at more than 3,500 locations in countries around the world.
