Melissa Gorga Finds Buyer for Montville Mansion

'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' cast member plans to build a new home in Franklin Lakes.

Pond View residents in Montville could be getting new neighbors.

While no sale of 8 Pond View had closed as of early Wednesday afternoon, the home there owned by Melissa and Joe Gorga, cast members on Bravo's "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," has a buyer at the full asking price of $3.8 million, Us Weekly reported Tuesday.

They're planning to build a new home in Franklin Lakes and rent in the area in the meantime.

"I feel like this was meant to be," Gorga told the magazine. "It happened just in time for the kids to start their first of day of school.

They said designing and building their new home will be a lot of work, but they're excited to do it.

Melissa Gorga's frustration with how long it was taking to find a buyer, and the high-end real estate market in Montville in general, was a topic on the show this season.

"The reason is $3.8 million is not a small sum of money and the upper-end economy is a much slimmer market than it used to be," the real estate agent, Jerry Sahlman, said.

On the show, Gorga said animosity between her and her sister-in-law, "Real Housewives" cast member and Towaco resident Teresa Giudice, was a reason they're eager to sell the home within a year.

"We did move to this town to be five minutes from Teresa's, but sometimes when you're living in the same town and you're going to all the same dance and the same gymnastics and the same high school, that's, in the siutation that we're in, is too close for comfort," she says.

In 2011, the Gorga's Montville mansion came in one place ahead of the White House on real estate website Zillow's list of its Top 10 Most Viewed Homes, at No. 7.
