Voter Registration Deadline Tuesday for Special Senate Primary

Morris County reminds residents of voting guidelines.

Tuesday is the deadline to register to vote in the U.S. Senate primary election to fill the seat of Sen. Frank Lautenberg,who died last month. The special election will be held on Oct. 16.

To vote in Morris County, a voter must have lived in the county for the past 30 days before the election. Voters must be 18 years old on or before Aug. 13, when the primary election is held, must not be incarcerated or on parole or on probation due to an indictable offense or conviction, Chief Deputy Superintendent of Elections Dale Kramer said in a press release. 

Registration can be completed in person at the Morris County Superintendent of Elections office (with extended hours from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the second floor of the Morris County Administration and Records Building, 10 Court Street in Morristown), or by mail after downloading the registration form from the Election Center Website.

Forms should be mailed to the Morris County Superintendent of Elections, Commissioner of Registration, P.O. Box 900, Morristown, NJ 07963-0900.
