Towaco Student Interns With Congressman

Tyler Rivera fielded calls from constituents, took notes on meetings and gave tours of the Capitol.

A college student from Towaco spent a month this summer researching pieces of legislation, fielding constituent phone calls and drafting memos for Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen of New Jersey’s 11th District.

Tyler Rivera sat in on meetings and gave tours of the Capitol as part of his internship with the congressman.

“The past month has flown by in a flash," Rivera said. "It has been an incredible experience working with such an accomplished congressman.”

A senior history major and political science minor at the University of Delaware, Rivera is looking to become involved in politics and has hopes of working on the hill after graduating.

“I have learned a great deal this month, and I appreciate having the opportunity," Rivera said. "This internship has inspired new ambitions for my post collegiate career, and for that, I am grateful."
