Route 202 Paving Gets Steamy on a Rainy Monday

Police: Paving continues Tuesday.

The first part of the county's Route 202 milling and repaving project is done.

"Milling of the entire Route 202 work area has been completed.  Paving is expected to start on either Friday, Oct. 4 or Monday, Oct. 7," said Montville Township.

Montville Township Police sent out an alert on Monday reminding residents to take alternate routes. "Route 202 Paving to continue Tuesday ... in the area between Taylortown Road and Valhalla Road ... Road closures will be necessary."

The county project targets Main Road between Fulton Street at the Boonton border and Nowak Lane near the entrance ramp to I-287 South and will happen between the 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. At some parts of teh road, both directions will be closed completely because it's too narrow to leave one lane open.

Plan alternate routes in the meantime. A thank you to Montville's Tara Garcia for sending in these photos from Monday. The rainy weather caused a lot of steam during the paving work.
