Pine Brook FD Gives Santa Lift to Town Hall

Hundreds attended the annual Christmas tree lighting event.

Santa got a lift to in a gleaming red fire engine as hundreds of children eagerly awaited his arrival.

Montville police explorers whisked Santa, who was accompanied by a snowman, into the municipal building where attendees waited their turn to take pictures with them.

Hundreds of children and their parents attended the Montville Township Christmas tree lighting on Monday. Organizers attributed the excellent attendance to warmer weather.

Leading up to the grand entrance, Girl Scouts and Elvis the Elf sang carols outside and the town officially flicked on its decorative lights.

Members of the Montville Township Women's Club provided refreshments at the event.

Husband and wife Henry and Margaret Will, residents of Towaco for 45 years, attended the ceremony for the first time on Monday.

"The lighting is beautiful," Margaret Will said. "It's a nice get-together."
