Residents brought the tilting poles to the attention of , which worked to have the issue addressed.
Verizon installed new poles on Thursday and equipment from the tilting poles was to be moved onto the new poles, according to a notice on the township website.
Township officials said they haven't heard what might have caused the leaning poles to lean in the first place.
Here's the notice from the town website:
If you have never seen the utility poles located on Changebridge Road at the corner of Changebridge Road and River Road, they appear to be a little askew. This is an issue that numerous residents have brought to the Township’s attention. Recently, through action taken by Municipal Officials, we have made progress in having the poles replaced. On Thursday, February 2, 2012, new poles were put in place by Verizon. Once the equipment, which is owned by JCP&L, is moved from the old poles to the new poles, the project will be complete. Thanks to all those who expressed concern over the leaning poles of Montville.
