Update: New Road, Stiles and Millers Lanes Closed

Township will announce more closures as they occur.

Update: The Township is reporting three more roads have been affected by heavy rainfall.

According to the town website, Stiles Lane / Vail Road into Lake Hiawatha is closed, as is New Road into Parsippany. Horseneck Road into Fairfield and Two Bridges Road into Lincoln Park remain closed due to weather.

The township website is also reporting that Millers Lane has water on it, but is passable.

“As a result of the recent heavy rain and the melting snow from this winter's storms, [Horseneck] road into Fairfield in town is closed,” the website said. Two Bridges Lane in Lincoln Park is also reported closed.

Residents are advised to watch out for flooding and to contact the Montville Police Department by calling 911 in case of emergency. Police are asking that all non-emergncy calls are directed to 973-257-4300. The township will post more road closing announcements as they occur.

According to the National Weather Service, the Passaic River was at a height of more than 8 feet at it highest point Wednesday night at 8:30 p.m. Flood stage is 7 feet. The NWS is forecasting that the river will rise to near 10.3 feet by Saturday afternoon.
