Government Shutdown Cancels Montville Chamber's Event

Chamber was going to have a FEMA representative speak at its Tuesday meeting.

From field trips to Morris County Tourism Bureau, the government shutdown's effects have trickled down to the local level.

For the Montville Chamber of Commerce, their monthly meeting on Tuesday has been canceled due to the government shutdown. The chamber hosts an informational meeting the second Tuesday of each month. This month, the speaker was going to be Art Goetz, FEMA representative.

"We never thought the shutdown would affect us," said the chamber, adding that they're hoping to reschedule the speaker for next month, Nov. 12.

"Please note due to the government limiting services, the chamber's info/breakfast on Tuesday, Oct. 15th at the Montville Diner from 8:30 - 10 a.m. has been cancelled.  The chamber will reschedule speaker at a later date," according to the chamber website.

Their monthly informational lunches are usually at Bonefish Grill in Pine Brook

Also, the chamber is hosting a networking Wine and Cheese event at Atlantic Stewardship Bank on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 5 - 7 p.m.. RSVP by this Wednesday to Judi Rothwell @ 201-444-7100 or jrothwell@asbnow.com.
