Maybe his entourage will get bottled up at Hook Mountain Road and Rt 46 and then maybe the state will fix it! Gary Lewis

Wonder if their is going to be any "stupid" people at the meeting ?
Les Le Gear February 25, 2013 at 10:18 PM
If I get the opportunity I will ask him why my Montville property tax went up 12% when there was a so called law passed capping increase at 2%. He took credit for that.

If the Gov. uses his GPS he should be coming thru Parsippany would any of you kind folks mind if we borrowed him for a bit ? Seems like we have some issues he can help us out with. I can here the ping now Recalculating
Mrs. Smith February 27, 2013 at 12:29 PM
Les Le Gear - maybe because you were reassessed like the rest of us and your property was valued higher than it was before? In that case the cap he imposed of 2% doesn't apply.
Les Le Gear February 27, 2013 at 02:01 PM
Wrong. My property was assessed at a lower rate than before. You really think property values have risen in the past few years?
D Ambriano February 28, 2013 at 09:11 PM
Mine apparently has. I just got reassessed WAY higher, despite having 3 electric line easements and the dratted Susquehanna Roseland 195-foot tower debacle in my back yard. Please tell me how that's even possible.
Les Le Gear February 28, 2013 at 10:07 PM
You have to examine the assessor's criteria. In most cases it's based on comps. Power lines would definitely NOT result in an increase in a home's value. I would think the opposite is true. You have to wonder about who was doing the assessment.

File an appeal. I've gotten two letters in the mail from attorney's willing to help me appeal my property taxes which actually means help me lower my property's value. You can't appeal the town's taxable rate. I appealed the value when the townwide assessment came out and they lowered it. Did you do that Les?
Les Le Gear March 01, 2013 at 08:10 PM
I have filed an appeal. I filed one in 2010 and they lowered my taxes. Two years later they increased the tax almost to the same level as before my first appeal. Anyway I'm appealing the tax and will argue the assessment in court.
