Two Charged with DWI: Police Blotter

A list of police incidents from the last few days, courtesy of the Montville Police Department.

The following police blotter is a list of some of the incidents Montville Police have responded to in the last several days. Anyone with information regarding ongoing investigations is encouraged to call the department at 973-257-4300.

  • On Jan. 15 at approximately 1:55 a.m., police arrested James Murray, of Montville, on charges of driving while intoxicated and careless driving. According to the officer on the scene, Murray was turning on to Changebridge Road from Horseneck Road when he allegedly crashed into a snow bank. According to reports, the officer allegedly smelled alcohol on Murray's breath and performed a physical sobriety test before charging him with driving while intoxicated.
  • On Jan. 15, police responded to a theft of services complaint at Tiffany’s restaurant in Pine Brook. According to the bartender at the restaurant, a man and two women sat at the bar for approximately an hour and a half, from 9 until 10:30 p.m., drinking and eating before leaving without paying the $118 bill. According to the report, the bartender followed the suspects into the parking lot but could not get their attention. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
  • On Jan. 10, at 10:26 p.m., Montville resident Ravindran Shenoy, 65, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated. According to the report, officers observed Shenoy exit Interstate 80 and travel toward Changebridge road swerving his black Mercedes. The officer observed Shenoy travel in the middle turning lane on Changebridge Road for approximately 200 yards before pulling him over, the report said. Shenoy was given a sobriety test and charged.
