This Week on Patch: Budgets, Elections and Fire Districts

What we'll be looking at this week.

The last week in April looks to be a busy one for Montville Township. Here is a quick rundown of what is happening in town this week and how Montville Patch will be covering it.

School Elections: Township residents will get a chance to have their say on the proposed 2011-2012 school district budget when the polls open on Wednesday. First year superintendent Dr. Paul Fried has , encouraging people to vote. This comes a year after the district’s budget was defeated and cut by nearly $1 million. Patch will be at the polls on Wednesday and will publish the results as soon as they are available for both the school budget and three open seats on the Board of Education.

Township Committee: , the Township Committee hinted that it might have a 2011-2012 municipal budget to present for initial introduction by this Tuesday’s meeting. Montville Patch will keep you updated on what that budget looks like, should it be introduced this week.

Fire District Meetings: All three Montville Township fire districts are holding a joint meeting at the Pine Brook firehouse on Wednesday. While Montville Patch hasn’t seen an agenda yet, the meeting may touch on the recently-adjusted Towaco district budget. Montville Patch will be at the meeting.

Arbor Day: The Township’s Arbor Day ceremony will be taking place at the Municipal Building Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. Check back with Patch this weekend for coverage of the event.
