Suspicious Package 'Non-Threatening' at Courthouse, Report Says

Building opened 42 minutes late Friday morning.

An investigation into what authorities called a suspicious package at the Morris County Courthouse closed the government building, along with streets surrounding the area Friday morning.

After more than 40 minutes of closures, the building and streets around the courthouse were reopened when authorities deemed the package "non-threatening," according to nj.com.

The Morris County Sheriff's Department and Morris County Prosecutor's Office investigated the matter with the assistance of Morristown Police, Lt. Stuart Greer said.

As of 11:30 a.m. Friday, the situation was still under investigation, according to Morris County Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Zelante.

The courthouse reopened at 9:12 a.m., nj.com reported.
